The Healthy Church

Hello Everyone,


Attached is a link from the Free Methodist Church in Canada regarding healthy churches and what they look like.


As we continue our journey with the LifePlan and as we have been talking about being a Missional Church it's important to remember the need for the Freeway to be a healthy church first in order for it to become a Missional church. If we are an unhealthy church we will fail to be a Missional church because we will be bringing people new to the faith into an unhealthy situation. As we say with our mission statement The Freeway seeks to be a safe place for the journey. Here is an interesting video that will help us to understand our denomination better and how we as a denomination are striving to build healthy churches within the reach of everyone.

The Missional Church

Pastor Dale forwarded this short video about what a Missional church should look like. The video describes the difference between an Attractional church and a Missional church. The Attractional church attracts people to their church. The Missional church sends their people out to the community to BE the church. The Missional church believes that every believer embodies the life of the church. The Bethel churches slogan is that they are gathered and scattered. They gather on Sunday morning and then scatter their people out into the community during the week. As we proceed with the lifeplan we need to understand what our lifeplan is and HOW we will live it out. This is the key to the whole lifeplan.
